Preservation Hall Jazz Band - Tipitina's, New Orleans 4/26/08
This week we're going to delve a little deeper into some of my favorite shows from this past Jazz Fest.
On the first Saturday night of Jazz Fest 2008, the Blind Boys of Alabama played a very special CD release/DVD live recording show at Tipitina's. Their latest CD "Down in New Orleans" was recorded in the city and features some of New Orleans finest players. On this special night the Blind Boys were joined by the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Dr. John, Henry Butler, Marva Wright and Susan Tedeschi. The night was filmed for a DVD release later in the year.
